One of the best ways to truly experience Egypt’s rural outdoor life is to go horseback riding in Luxor. In the villages, you will witness ladies baking bread and farmers toiling in the fields. Along the canals and the River Nile, you will also witness the amazing wildlife, including the mongoose, kingfishers, alligators, and herons. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a desert sunset at Habu Temple. All of this while riding one of our secure and cozy forward-moving horses on a ride that is customized to meet your needs.

You will travel through the local communities and through the tranquil and picturesque sugar cane and banana farms on your ride. You will witness the farmers cultivating the land and take in the breathtaking fauna. You will also travel alongside the banks of the Nile River on these rides.

You will go through the villages and up into the desert on our longer rides (three to five hours). You can go to the majestic, well-known Temple of Medinet Habu or Hatshepsut, or the Christian Monastery. You can pass the Ramesseum and the Statues of Memnon on these rides. Being able to observe the breathtaking desert sunrises and sunsets while riding a horse atop the sand dunes is one of the highlights of our longer trips.

Our horses are appropriate for riders of all skill levels, and we offer a competent, knowledgeable guide with extensive local knowledge who will train novice riders.

Even those who have never ridden a horse before can take part in the activity. Every level has access to horses, and if you need them, you will be given thorough instructions. The horses are trustworthy, amiable, and in good shape. Safety helmets come in various sizes and are required. A knowledgeable English-speaking guide will ride a donkey or horse alongside you.
