Giza Pyramids Complex
The Giza Pyramids complex served as a mirror of the heavenly splendor of Ancient Egyptian culture for more than 4000 years. The huge sphinx, the valley temple, the six little pyramids, and the three major great pyramids made up the Giza complex.
The Great Pyramid
As the final standing example of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid is a cosmic landmark from a mythical world. The Khufu pyramid, which is 147 meters (481 feet) tall and has been the highest structure in history for the past 3800 years, was built in under 20 years in 2580 BC using 2,300,000 blocks of limestone, each weighing 2.5 tons.
The Great Sphinx
The great Sphinx is a guardian angel known as Hor-em-Akhet, which means “Horus of the horizon,” and who hails from a mythical domain. The sphinx is 73 meters (240 feet) tall, 19 meters (66 feet) broad, and is shaped after the mythical monster known as the sphinx, which has a lion’s body and a man’s head said to be king Khafre to emphasize his great strength and intelligence.
The Valley Temple
As it was built during the old kingdom (2686 2134 BC) to serve as the location where the mummification process took place, it is where time was shackled. The valley is a well-preserved archaeological site because it contains invaluable information on ancient Egyptian funeral rituals and the mummification process.
